Lasagna Components

  • 12 pieces lasagna noodles Regular or no-boil varieties can be used.
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese Use vegan mozzarella for a dairy-free option.
  • 4 cups ricotta cheese Substitute with cottage cheese for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Nutritional yeast can be used for a dairy-free alternative.
  • 3 cups marinara sauce Use your favorite store-bought variety or homemade.

Seasonings

  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano For classic Italian flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Enhances flavor.
  • to taste salt and pepper To elevate the flavors.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the lasagna noodles if using regular ones in a pot of salted water until al dente, about 8 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, combine the ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well incorporated.
  • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.

Layering

  • Place 4 noodles over the sauce, then add half of the cheese mixture over them. Spoon a layer of marinara sauce on top, and sprinkle with a bit more mozzarella.
  • Repeat the layering two more times: noodles, cheese mixture, sauce, mozzarella.
  • Finish with a final layer of noodles topped with marinara and the remaining mozzarella.

Baking

  • Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and let the lasagna bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing.

Notes

Store uneaten lasagna in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. Assemble without baking, cover, and refrigerate for up to 24 hours before cooking. Can freeze for up to 3 months before baking.
