Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option) Choose a lean option to reduce fat.
  • ½ cup teriyaki sauce (store-bought or homemade) Opt for low-sodium sauce for a healthier choice.
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil (optional, for richer flavor) Use any vegetable oil if sesame oil is unavailable.
  • 1 cup broccoli florets (or your favorite vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas) Feel free to use a mix of vegetables.
  • 2 green onions diced For garnishing.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds For garnishing.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, add sesame oil. Once hot, toss in the minced garlic and grated ginger. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a wooden spoon and cook for about 5-7 minutes or until browned. Drain any excess fat for a healthier dish.
  • Once the beef is cooked, introduce the broccoli (or other vegetables) into the mix. Stir-fry for another 3-4 minutes until the veggies are tender yet still crisp.
  • Pour in the teriyaki sauce, mixing well to ensure everything is evenly coated. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and sprinkle with diced green onions and sesame seeds. Serve over cooked rice, quinoa, or lettuce wraps.

Notes

For storage, refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month. Reheat with a splash of water or extra teriyaki sauce to prevent dryness.
