  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil. Once hot, toss in the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Stir in the sliced mushrooms and continue to sauté, allowing them to brown and release their moisture, about 5 minutes.
  • Push the vegetables to the side and add the ground beef to the skillet. Break it apart with a wooden spoon and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the beef mixture. Stir well to coat everything evenly, and allow it to cook for an additional minute.
  • Gradually pour the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce into the skillet, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Bring to a simmer.
  • Once thickened, reduce the heat and stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated.
  • Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve over egg noodles or rice.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days, or freeze for up to three months. To reheat, thaw and warm gently on the stove.
