Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds chicken tenders, trimmed (about 12–16 tenders)
  • 12-16 slices bacon (regular or turkey bacon)

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup honey adds sweet balance and glossy finish
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar deepens caramel notes
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard gives tang and helps the glaze adhere
  • 1-2 teaspoons chili powder or cayenne (adjust to taste for spice)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika adds warmth and smoke
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder background savory notes
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Optional Ingredients

  • Toothpicks for securing (optional)
  • Olive oil or cooking spray for the baking sheet (if baking)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) if baking, or heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat if starting on the stove.
  • Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly oil it.

Seasoning

  • Pat chicken tenders dry, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Wrapping

  • Take one slice of bacon and wrap it around each tender, overlapping slightly to secure.
  • You can tuck the ends under or use a toothpick to hold everything in place.

Making the Glaze

  • In a small bowl, whisk together honey, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and chili powder (or cayenne). Taste and adjust to control the sweet and spicy balance.

Baking

  • Place tenders seam-side down on the prepared sheet.
  • Brush generously with half the glaze.
  • Bake for 12 minutes, then brush with remaining glaze and bake another 8-12 minutes until bacon is crisp and chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).

Serving

  • Remove from oven and let rest for 3-5 minutes so the glaze sets.
  • Serve hot.

Notes

For a sticky, more caramelized finish, broil on high for 1-2 minutes at the end. You can also serve with a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime for added brightness.
