  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Swap for butter or sesame oil for a unique flavor.
  • 1 medium Onion, sliced Red onions or shallots can be used as alternatives.
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Essential aromatic for enhancing flavor.

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the sliced onion to the pan, and sauté for about 3 minutes until they turn soft and translucent.
  • Stir in the minced garlic and let it cook for another minute.
  • Gradually add the shredded cabbage to the skillet.
  • Sprinkle with salt and pepper, then give everything a good toss.
  • Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and lightly caramelized.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning as necessary and serve hot.

Notes

For variations, consider adding cooked bacon or sausage for protein, or fresh herbs for added flavor. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
