For the filling

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for rich caramel flavor
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon a cozy essential

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats for texture and heartiness
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts walnuts or pecans, optional for nut-free
  • 1/4 cup raisins or cranberries for a hint of tanginess
  • 2 tablespoons butter or coconut oil for a vegan alternative

For baking

  • 1/2 cup apple juice or water to create syrup during baking

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Wash your apples thoroughly and remove their cores.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, rolled oats, chopped nuts, and raisins.
  • Stuff each apple with the mixture, pressing gently to ensure they’re generously filled.

Baking

  • Place the stuffed apples in a baking dish and dot each one with a small piece of butter on top.
  • Pour the apple juice or water into the bottom of the dish.
  • Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Let the baked apples cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For healthier options, consider using honey or maple syrup instead of brown sugar. Serve with ice cream or yogurt for an indulgent dessert.
