  • 4-5 pieces ripe peaches Fresh is best! You can also use canned peaches in a pinch.
  • 1/2 cup sugar Adjust based on the sweetness of your peaches.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Helps thicken the filling beautifully.
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon Adds warmth and depth.
  • 1 piece egg For an egg wash, giving your cruffins a golden finish.
  • to taste sprinkle powdered sugar Optional, to add a touch of elegance.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Peel and slice the peaches into small chunks. In a bowl, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Toss gently until fully coated.
  • On a lightly floured surface, roll out one sheet of puff pastry until it’s about 1/8-inch thick.
  • Cut the rolled pastry into rectangles, approximately 4 inches by 6 inches.
  • Place a spoonful of the peach filling in the center of each pastry rectangle, leaving space around the edges.
  • Gently roll each rectangle from one end to the other, creating a tight spiral. Place them seam-side down in greased muffin tins.
  • Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the tops of each cruffin.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
  • Allow the cruffins to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar and serving warm.

Notes

To keep cruffins fresh, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. You can freeze the assembled cruffins and bake later.
