  • 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined Fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup orzo pasta The tiny pasta goes perfectly with the shrimp
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Fresh garlic adds depth and fragrance
  • 1 cup chicken broth Homemade or store-bought works great
  • 1 cup heavy cream For a lush, creamy texture
  • 1 teaspoon paprika Adds warmth and a hint of smokiness
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Helps sauté and add flavor
  • Salt and pepper To taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped For garnish and a pop of color
  • 1/2 lemon Juice of For brightness

  • In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the shrimp and sprinkle with salt, pepper, and paprika. Cook for about 2-3 minutes, just until they turn pink. Remove the shrimp and set aside.
  • In the same pot, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Pour in the chicken broth and stir in the orzo pasta. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until the pasta absorbs most of the broth and becomes al dente.
  • Lower the heat and add in the heavy cream. Return the shrimp to the pot and stir gently to combine. Continue cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the shrimp are fully cooked and everything is warmed through.
  • Squeeze the juice of half a lemon over the dish and sprinkle with fresh parsley.

Notes

This dish is great for leftovers! Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days. To reheat, simply warm it in a saucepan over low heat, adding a splash of broth or cream to keep it creamy and delightful.
