Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 12 oz spaghetti (or your favorite pasta)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter the heart of this creamy sauce
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced the star ingredient of the show
  • 3 cups chicken or vegetable broth swap with low-sodium for a lighter version
  • 1 cup heavy cream for that luscious creaminess
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese because what’s pasta without cheese?
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped optional, for a pop of color

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large pot over medium heat, melt the butter. As it melts, take a moment to inhale that rich, nutty aroma.
  • Add the minced garlic to the melted butter, stirring until fragrant—about 1-2 minutes—being careful not to let it burn.
  • Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, bringing it to a gentle boil. Add the spaghetti, ensuring it’s submerged in the broth.
  • Allow the pasta to cook according to package directions, stirring occasionally until al dente and the broth has reduced.
  • Lower the heat, and slowly stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Remove from heat and stir in fresh parsley if using. Admire the creamy coating that envelops each strand of pasta, and get ready to dig in!

Notes

For variations, consider adding vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes, grilled chicken or shrimp for protein, or red pepper flakes for a spicy kick. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
