Main Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Pasta (penne or fusilli)
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Avocado oil can be used for a lighter taste.
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced) Fresh garlic brings an aromatic depth.
  • 1 can Tomato Sauce (15 ounces) Use a good quality sauce, San Marzano is recommended.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Substitute with half-and-half or Greek yogurt for a lighter option.
  • 1 cup Parmesan Cheese (grated) Use freshly grated for best flavor.
  • 1 handful Fresh Basil (chopped) Can substitute with spinach.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  • Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in the uncooked pasta and toss it in the oil, allowing each piece to coat evenly.
  • Pour the tomato sauce over the pasta, followed by 2 cups of water. Stir and bring it to a gentle boil.
  • Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-12 minutes, until the pasta is al dente, stirring occasionally.
  • Once the pasta is cooked, reduce the heat to low and slowly add the heavy cream, mixing it throughout. The sauce will thicken.
  • Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese and chopped basil, allowing it to melt and blend into the creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper as desired.
  • Dish out generous portions and serve.
