  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil To sauté the vegetables and sausage, providing a smooth base.
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning (dried oregano, basil, and thyme) A blend that enhances the Italian flair.
  • 1 teaspoon Crushed red pepper flakes Optional for those who enjoy a bit of heat.
  • to taste Salt and pepper To taste.
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh parsley Optional for garnishing and a pop of color.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.
  • Once hot, add the Italian sausages, browning them on all sides for about 5-7 minutes.
  • Add sliced onions and minced garlic to the skillet and sauté until the onion softens, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Toss in sliced bell peppers, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Stir and cook for an additional 8-10 minutes, allowing the peppers to soften.
  • Taste and season with salt and pepper as needed.
  • Once the peppers are soft and the sausage is fully cooked, remove from heat. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.

Notes

This dish is great for leftovers! Store any uneaten portions in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also freeze it for up to a month. When reheating, add a splash of water to keep it moist and stir until heated through.
