Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb salmon fillet Fresh is best, but frozen works too; just ensure it's thawed.
  • 1/4 cup honey Use local honey for an added flavor nuance.
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce Replace it with tamari for a gluten-free version.
  • 2 cloves fresh garlic, minced Brings that aromatic punch.
  • 1 tbsp olive oil Helps achieve that lovely crisp texture.
  • salt and pepper Just a sprinkle to bring out all the flavors.
  • Chopped green onions For garnishing and a fresh, vibrant crunch.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cut your salmon into bite-sized pieces, about 1 to 2 inches thick. Pat them dry with paper towels.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, and minced garlic.

Cooking

  • Drizzle olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  • Add the salmon pieces to the pan, searing them for about 3-4 minutes until golden and crisp.
  • Pour the honey garlic sauce over the salmon bites and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, basting the salmon in sauce as it caramelizes.
  • Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions. Serve warm.

Notes

Consider using low-sodium soy sauce for a lighter option. Pair these bites with a fresh salad, steamed vegetables, or fluffy rice.
