Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 medium Chicken breasts, boneless, skinless
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Butter Adds richness
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh is best but jar garlic works
  • 1/4 cup Honey Main sweetness
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce Use low sodium if available
  • 2 tbsp Chicken broth or water To loosen the sauce
  • 1 tbsp Vinegar or lemon juice Adds a pop of flavor
  • 1-2 tbsp Flour or cornstarch Optional, for sauce sticking

Instructions

Preparation

  • Flatten the thick part of the chicken breasts by placing them in a bag and gently pounding the thick end.
  • Pat the chicken dry with a paper towel.
  • Season the chicken with salt and pepper.

Cooking

  • Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add a little oil.
  • Sear the chicken breasts in the hot pan until golden brown.
  • Lower the heat and add butter and garlic to the pan.
  • Once the garlic is fragrant, stir in honey and soy sauce, then add a splash of chicken broth or water.
  • Let the sauce bubble for 1-2 minutes until glossy.
  • Return the chicken to the pan, spoon sauce over the top, and let finish cooking.

Serving

  • Serve the chicken with rice, roasted broccoli, or a bagged salad.

Notes

For a spicy kick, sprinkle red pepper flakes on top. To make it kid-friendly, keep it sweet and garnish with sesame seeds. To store leftovers, place in an airtight container and pour excess sauce over the chicken. Consume within 3-4 days.
