  • 1 pound Boneless Chicken Thighs or Breasts Firm tofu can be used for a vegetarian version.
  • 1/3 cup Honey
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced Fresh, for best flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Use low-sodium if preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Oil Can be substituted with olive oil.
  • 2 Green Onions, chopped Chives can be used instead.
  • 2 tablespoons Sesame Seeds Optional for garnish.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, and minced garlic.
  • Place the chicken thighs in a shallow dish and pour half of the honey garlic sauce over them. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Cooking

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of sesame oil, and once hot, add the marinated chicken, searing each side for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  • Pour the remaining honey garlic sauce into the skillet. Let it simmer until the sauce thickens and coats the chicken.
  • Once the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F, sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

Serving

  • Serve immediately, alongside rice and vegetables if desired.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce. Batch cooking is recommended for leftovers, which can be stored for up to 3 days in the fridge or frozen for up to 3 months.
