Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen corn kernels Fresh gives the best pop; frozen is convenient.
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter Browned slightly for a nutty depth.
  • 2 tablespoons honey Creates a sticky-sweet glaze.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Helps the kernels crisp without burning.
  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped Adds gentle sweetness and aroma.
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika For warmth and a hint of smoke.
  • Salt and black pepper to taste Season generously; corn loves salt.
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley or chives Brightens and adds color.

Instructions

Cooking Instructions

  • Heat your skillet over medium heat and add the olive oil. When it shimmers, toss in the shallot and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Add the corn to the skillet in a single layer. Let it cook undisturbed for 2–3 minutes until some kernels get golden brown edges.
  • Stir and continue to cook for 2 more minutes until most kernels are bright and slightly caramelized.
  • Reduce heat to low and add the butter and honey. Stir briskly until the butter melts and the honey forms a glossy coating.
  • Sprinkle in the smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Toss to combine and adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Remove from heat and fold in the fresh herbs. Serve warm.

Notes

For variations, consider adding smoky bacon crumbles, toasted pecans, or swapping half of the butter for Greek yogurt to reduce calories. Serve with roasted chicken or grilled pork chops for a balanced meal.
