  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey for a leaner option
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs use gluten-free versions for a healthier option
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese adds depth of flavor
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped fresh herbs brighten the dish
  • 1 large egg binds the meatballs together; can use flaxseed for a vegan option
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced fresh garlic enhances flavor
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce homemade or store-bought; make it your own!

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, garlic, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Use your hands to mix gently but thoroughly.
  • Roll the mixture into balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  • Place the meatballs on a lined baking sheet, keeping them slightly spaced apart.

Cooking

  • Bake for about 15 minutes until the meatballs are golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and generously brush or drizzle with BBQ sauce. Return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes.

Serving

  • Let the meatballs cool for a few minutes before serving. Pair with side dishes.

Notes

Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze them and reheat in the oven or microwave.
