Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound Steak (ribeye, sirloin, or your favorite cut) Choose ribeye, sirloin, or your favorite cut for optimal flavor and tenderness.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter (unsalted) Unsalted butter will allow you to control the saltiness of the sauce.
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced) Fresh garlic for depth and flavor; it’s truly the heart of this dish.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream For a rich, creamy sauce; you could substitute with half-and-half for a lighter version.
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (grated) Freshly grated will yield the best flavor and texture.
  • Fresh Parsley (optional) Chopped, for garnishing and a dash of color.

Seasoning

  • Salt Use kosher salt for seasoning.
  • Pepper Use freshly cracked black pepper for seasoning.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Allow your steak to come to room temperature for about 15 minutes. Season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.

Searing

  • In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat until melted and bubbling. Carefully place the steak in the skillet, searing for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, depending on thickness.

Resting

  • Once cooked to your desired doneness, transfer the steak to a plate and cover it with foil. Let it rest while you make the sauce.

Sauce Preparation

  • In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter and the minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds, or until fragrant.
  • Reduce the heat to medium-low, then pour in the heavy cream. Stir constantly until it starts to bubble. Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into a smooth sauce.
  • Once the sauce thickens, taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper if needed.

Serving

  • Slice your steak against the grain and serve it hot, generously drizzled with the rich Parmesan cream sauce. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

You can use Greek yogurt instead of heavy cream for a lighter version. Consider adding sautéed mushrooms or spinach for added nutrients. This sauce can also be used with chicken or shrimp.
