  • 1 pound Steak (sirloin or ribeye) Tender cuts perfect for quick cooking.
  • 1 pound Baby Potatoes Use red or Yukon gold for best results.
  • 4 cloves Garlic Fresh minced garlic adds delightful flavor.
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Unsalted butter is recommended.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil To sear the steak perfectly.
  • Herbs Fresh herbs (rosemary or parsley) Optional, for added freshness.
  • to taste Salt and Pepper For seasoning.

Preparation

  • Begin by washing your baby potatoes and cutting them in halves.
  • Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces.

Cooking

  • In a medium pot, boil salted water and add the potatoes. Cook for about 10-12 minutes until fork-tender, then drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the steak bites and season with salt and pepper. Sear for about 2-3 minutes until browned, then remove them from the pan and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic and cook just until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  • Add the cooked potatoes and steak back into the skillet and toss to coat everything in garlic butter for about 2 minutes.
  • If desired, sprinkle with fresh herbs. Serve hot.

Notes

For added nutrition, toss in green beans or asparagus during the last few minutes of cooking. Adjust seasoning for spice with red pepper flakes or change up the herbs for new flavors.
