Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 2 pieces boneless, skinless chicken breasts can substitute with thighs for a juicier option
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter or olive oil for a lighter choice
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced more if you’re a garlic lover!
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme fresh thyme works beautifully if you have it on hand
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
  • as needed Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish, optional

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). This ensures the chicken gets that lovely golden finish.
  • Prepare your baking dish: A 9x13 inch glass dish or a cast-iron skillet works great. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or a bit of butter.
  • Melt the butter: In a small saucepan, melt your butter over low heat, then add the minced garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook just until the garlic is fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
  • Arrange the chicken: Place your chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish.
  • Pour the garlic butter sauce over the chicken, ensuring each piece is generously coated. You’ll know it’s ready when it glistens invitingly.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until the chicken is cooked through (the internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C). You’ll know it’s ready when the edges turn a beautiful golden brown.
  • Garnish with fresh parsley for that pop of color and flavor just before serving.

Notes

For variations, add lemon juice before baking for a zesty twist or sprinkle red pepper flakes for heat. Toss seasonal veggies into the baking dish for a one-pan meal.
