Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey (lean preferred)
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 2 cups carrots, thinly sliced
  • 1 can (15 oz) green beans, drained
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt & black pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or turkey with the chopped onion and minced garlic until browned and tender. Drain any excess grease.
  • In a large bowl, mix together the cooked meat mixture, sliced potatoes and carrots, drained green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and Italian seasoning. Season with salt and pepper to taste, stir until everything is well coated.
  • Spread the mixture evenly in the greased baking dish and cover tightly with foil.

Baking

  • Bake for 45 minutes to soften the vegetables and meld the flavors together.
  • Remove the foil, sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top, and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Serving

  • Allow the casserole to rest for 5 minutes before serving for the best taste and texture.

Notes

Serve warm with crusty bread or a simple side salad. This dish is great for family gatherings and can be customized with different veggies or cheese types.
