Ingredients
  

For the sliders

  • 12 pieces Hawaiian sweet rolls Soft and slightly sweet. Substitute with dinner rolls if needed.
  • 8 ounces sliced Swiss cheese Can substitute with cheddar or provolone.
  • 1 pound thinly sliced deli ham Smoked or honey ham is recommended.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted, for brushing on top and mixing with the glaze.

For the glaze

  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard Adds a gentle tang; can use grainy mustard.
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce Omit for a milder taste.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar Creates the sweet glaze; coconut sugar is a substitute.
  • 1 teaspoon poppy seeds Optional, for texture.
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder Fresh minced garlic can be used (1 clove).
  • to taste freshly ground black pepper For seasoning.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking dish large enough to hold the sliders snugly.
  • Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally in half, keeping the top and bottom as sheets.
  • Place the bottom half into the baking dish.
  • Layer the ham evenly over the bottom rolls.
  • Add a layer of Swiss cheese on top of the ham.
  • Repeat layers if desired but keep it even.
  • Place the top half of the rolls over the fillings and press gently.

Glazing and Baking

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, and black pepper until smooth.
  • Drizzle and brush this glaze over the tops of the rolls.
  • Sprinkle poppy seeds over the tops if using.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 12 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 3–6 minutes until golden.
  • Let rest for 2–3 minutes before slicing into individual sliders.

Notes

For a vegetarian option, swap ham for grilled vegetables and use plant-based cheese. To lighten, use light butter and reduce brown sugar.
