Ingredients

Protein

  • 500 g Skinless, boneless chicken breasts You can swap them with thighs for a juicier option.

Flavorings

  • 4-5 cloves Garlic, minced For a milder taste, consider roasting the garlic before adding.
  • 1-2 tsp Red chili flakes Adjust based on your heat preference; use smoked paprika for less heat.
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce Opt for low-sodium if mindful of sodium intake.
  • 2 tbsp Honey You can substitute agave syrup for a vegan option.
  • 2 tbsp Vegetable oil Any neutral oil works; olive oil adds nice flavor.
  • to taste Chopped green onions For garnish, to bring freshness and color.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a bowl, mix the soy sauce, honey, minced garlic, and red chili flakes. Add your chicken, ensuring every piece is well-coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, warm the vegetable oil until shimmering.
  • Remove excess marinade and place the chicken in the hot skillet. Sear for about 4–5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Pour any remaining marinade over the chicken and allow it to bubble up for an additional 2 minutes, thickening into a glossy sauce.
  • Remove from heat, sprinkle with chopped green onions, and serve hot.

Notes

Toss in bell peppers or broccoli for extra nutrition. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3–4 days, or freeze for up to 3 months.
