  • 1 cup cold heavy cream Make sure it's very cold for better whipping
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar Adjust for desired sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For a richer flavor, you can use vanilla bean paste

Preparation

  • Pour the cold heavy cream into a chilled mixing bowl.
  • Add the powdered sugar.
  • Whip on medium speed with an electric mixer until the cream begins to thicken, about two minutes.
  • Once thickened, add the vanilla extract and increase the mixer's speed to medium-high.
  • Continue whipping until medium peaks form, about another minute and a half.
  • Use immediately or cover and store in the fridge until ready to serve. It holds its texture well for up to 12 hours.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 12 hours. Gently re-whip if it deflates.
