Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey for a leaner option)
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (try pepper jack for a spicy twist)
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes (drained; use fresh or canned)
  • 1/2 cup diced onions (yellow or white)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped pickles (optional but highly recommended) for that burger zing

For Serving

  • Tortilla chips, crackers, or veggie sticks for serving

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.
  • In the slow cooker, combine the browned beef, cream cheese, sour cream, cheddar cheese, diced tomatoes, onions, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.

Cooking

  • Cover and cook on low for 2 hours or on high for 1 hour. Give it a good stir halfway through.
  • If you’re using pickles, stir them in during the last 10 minutes of cooking.

Serving

  • Once everything is melted and bubbly, scoop the dip into a serving bowl. Serve hot with tortilla chips, crackers, or veggie sticks.

Notes

Feel free to customize the dip with sautéed bell peppers or different cheese varieties. To ensure your dip turns out perfectly, avoid overcooking the beef, not mixing thoroughly, and skipping the pickles.
