  • ½ cup Honey Can substitute with agave syrup.

  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced Adds warmth that balances the sweetness.
  • 1 tsp Ginger, grated Hint of spice that rounds out the flavors.
  • Salt and Pepper To taste.
  • Vegetable Oil For frying or use coconut oil for different flavor.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces for even cooking.
  • In a bowl, mix soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, salt, and pepper. Add chicken to marinade, coating well, and let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Beat the egg in a separate bowl. Dip marinated chicken pieces in egg, then coat generously with cornstarch.

Cooking

  • Heat about ½ inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Fry the coated chicken pieces in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey and a splash of water; simmer until it thickens.
  • Remove fried chicken and let it drain on paper towels. Toss in the honey sauce to coat.
  • Transfer to a serving platter and drizzle any remaining sauce over the top. Serve warm.

Notes

For a healthier option, bake the coated chicken at 400°F for about 20 minutes instead of frying. Add bell peppers or broccoli while frying for more nutrients. For a spicy kick, incorporate red pepper flakes into the honey sauce.
