Preparation

  • Begin by preheating your stovetop over medium heat, allowing the pan to warm up.
  • Melt the butter in the pan; the rich aroma will soon fill your kitchen and set the perfect tone.
  • Add the minced garlic, stirring for about 30 seconds until it becomes fragrant, but be careful not to let it burn!
  • Toss in the fresh spinach and watch it wilt down to about a fraction of its original size.
  • Reduce the heat to low and slowly mix in the heavy cream and softened cream cheese, stirring until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  • Sprinkle in the grated Parmesan cheese, continuously stirring until it melts into the sauce. Season with salt and pepper to your liking.
  • Let it simmer for a minute or two, allowing the flavors to meld together before removing from heat.

Notes

For a festive twist, consider adding nutmeg for warming spice notes. Swap heavy cream for half-and-half for a lighter version. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for about 3-4 days.
