Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and garlic powder, ensuring an even coat.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  • In the same skillet, add a bit of the bacon fat and sear the seasoned chicken breasts for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden-brown.
  • Lay the seared chicken breasts in a baking dish.
  • Generously brush the BBQ sauce over each chicken breast.
  • Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese and crumbled bacon on top.

Cooking

  • Place the dish in the oven and bake for 20 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  • Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

For a healthier option, swap Greek yogurt for the BBQ sauce to reduce sugar. Add sautéed bell peppers or onions for extra flavor. For spiciness, mix in jalapeños or cayenne pepper.
