Dough Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour You can substitute with whole wheat flour for a healthier option!
  • 1 cup milk Whole or almond milk works perfectly for added creaminess.
  • 1/2 cup sugar Sweetness that balances the cinnamon and makes every bite heavenly.
  • 1/4 cup butter Melted and slightly cooled, it adds richness.
  • 1 packet instant yeast For that magical rise!
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt To enhance all the flavors.
  • 2 large eggs These will bring the dough together and create a lovely texture.

Filling Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon The star of the show, providing that warm, comforting flavor.
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar For a deeper sweetness, combine it with cinnamon when layering.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, and sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Sprinkle the instant yeast over the mixture and let it sit for 5-10 minutes, allowing it to bubble and rise.
  • Add in the eggs and mix until combined. Gradually stir in flour and salt, mixing until a shaggy dough forms.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface. Knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.
  • In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and cinnamon for the filling.
  • Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 12x18 inches. Brush with melted butter, then sprinkle the cinnamon mixture evenly on top.
  • Starting from the long side, roll the dough tightly into a log. Slice the log into 12 equal rolls.
  • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Let the rolls cool for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Allow any leftovers to cool completely before storing them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days. For longer storage, freeze the rolls tightly wrapped in plastic wrap for up to three months. To enjoy them again, simply reheat in the oven or microwave until warm through.
