  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, and salt.
  • Melt the butter and add it to the milk mixture, followed by the egg. Mix well.
  • Gradually add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture and mix until a dough forms.
  • Knead the dough for about 5 minutes on a floured surface until smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for about 30 minutes, until doubled in size.

Rolling and Baking

  • Once risen, roll the dough out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  • Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle cinnamon and brown sugar evenly.
  • Roll the dough tightly into a log and cut into 12 pieces.
  • Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 15 minutes.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake the rolls for 25–30 minutes, until golden brown.

Icing

  • While baking, whip up the icing by mixing powdered sugar, cream cheese, and vanilla until smooth.
