Cinnamon Roll Base
  • 2 cans refrigerated cinnamon rolls (12.4 oz each)
  • 4 large eggs For a lighter version, use egg whites.
  • 1 cup milk (whole or almond) Almond milk can be used for dairy-free option.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup maple syrup Agave nectar can be used for a vegan option.
  • ½ cup chopped pecans or walnuts Optional; can substitute with dried fruits like raisins.
  • 1 serving cream cheese icing Included with the cinnamon rolls or homemade.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and cut each roll into quarters. Place the pieces in a large mixing bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and maple syrup.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the chopped cinnamon roll pieces and gently fold to combine.
  5. If using nuts, sprinkle them in and fold again.
Baking
  1. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and fully set in the center.
Serving
  1. Drizzle cream cheese icing over the warm casserole and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with fresh fruit, Greek yogurt, or drizzle additional maple syrup on top. Monitor carefully to avoid overbaking.
