Ingredients
  

For the Chai

  • 2 cups Water To brew the tea.
  • 2 tablespoons Black Tea Use loose tea leaves or tea bags.
  • 1 cup Milk Whole or plant-based milk.

Spices

  • 1 stick Cinnamon Stir into the brew.
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Cardamom Adds unique flavor.
  • ½ teaspoon Ground Ginger Provides a hint of heat.
  • 2-3 whole Cloves For warming aromatic flavor.

For Sweetening

  • to taste Sugar or Honey Sweeten according to preference.

Optional Garnish

  • 1 dollop Whipped Cream For extra indulgence.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Tea

  • In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil, then add 2 tablespoons of black tea leaves or 2 tea bags. Allow it to steep for about 5 minutes.

Add the Spices

  • Stir in a cinnamon stick, ½ teaspoon of ground cardamom, ½ teaspoon of ground ginger, and a few whole cloves.

Incorporate Milk

  • Once the tea is steeped, add 1 cup of your chosen milk. Bring the mixture back to a gentle simmer, stirring frequently.

Sweeten the Pot

  • Add sugar or honey to taste. Keep tasting until it’s just right for your palate.

Strain and Serve

  • Remove from heat, strain the chai into mugs, and garnish with whipped cream, extra spices, or a cinnamon stick if desired.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving. For an iced version, serve over ice with a splash of milk.
