Ingredients

For the Pizza

  • 1 package Pizza Dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup Chili Mix of your favorite chili, whether it's vegetarian or meaty
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese, shredded feel free to substitute with vegan cheese for a plant-based option
  • 1 piece Red Bell Pepper, diced adds a nice crunch and sweetness
  • 1 medium Onion, chopped enhances the flavor profile
  • to taste Jalapeños, sliced for those who crave an extra kick
  • 1 tablespoon Olive Oil adds richness
  • to taste Cilantro for garnish; alternatively, you can use parsley or omit it
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin enhances the warmth of flavors
  • to taste Salt and Pepper

Instructions

Preparation

  • If you're making your dough, mix flour, yeast, and warm water, knead until smooth, and let it rise for 30 minutes. Alternatively, you can use store-bought dough to save time!
  • Set your oven to 475°F (245°C) so it’s nice and hot when you're ready to bake the pizza.
  • In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and diced bell pepper, cooking until soft (about 5 minutes). Add cumin, salt, and pepper, stirring to combine the flavors.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the pizza dough into your desired shape, whether that's round or rectangular. Transfer it to a baking sheet or pizza stone.

Assembly & Baking

  • Spread your prepared chili evenly across the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  • Layer the sautéed onion and bell pepper mixture over the chili. Top it off with shredded mozzarella cheese and jalapeños for extra heat.
  • Place the pizza in the preheated oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
  • Once out of the oven, sprinkle fresh cilantro on top. Slice and serve with a side of your favorite dipping sauce for a personalized touch.

Notes

Consider swapping out some ingredients to make your Chili Pizza even healthier: use whole wheat pizza dough instead of regular, substitute part of the cheese with nutritional yeast, or add spinach or kale for a nutritional boost. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freeze for longer storage.
