Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the hash browns, half of the cheddar cheese, eggs, milk, sour cream, and green onions. Season generously with salt and pepper.
  • Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish and pour the mixture evenly.
  • Sprinkle the remaining cheddar cheese evenly across the top.

Baking

  • Place the dish in the preheated oven and bake for about 30 minutes.
  • Check for doneness: the bake should be puffed and golden brown, and a knife inserted in the center should come out clean.
  • Allow it to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Add sautéed veggies, like bell peppers or spinach, for a healthier dish. Optionally, mix in cooked sausage or bacon for a richer meal.
