  • 1 loaf French or Italian loaf Fresh loaf recommended for best texture.
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted Butter Softened at room temperature.
  • 3 cloves Garlic Freshly minced for maximum flavor.
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese Shredded for gooey texture.
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese Grated for depth of flavor.
  • 1/4 cup Chopped Fresh Parsley For garnish and added freshness.
  • 1 pinch Salt Enhances overall flavor.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Slice your French or Italian loaf in half lengthwise and place the halves on a baking sheet, cut side up.
  • Mix the softened unsalted butter with the minced garlic, salt, and half of the chopped parsley in a small bowl.
  • Spread the garlicky butter evenly over the cut sides of the bread.
  • Layer the shredded mozzarella on top, followed by an even sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.

Baking

  • Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the bread start turning golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the remaining parsley for garnish.
  • Let it cool for a minute before slicing.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil for the last minute of baking. Store leftovers wrapped tightly in the refrigerator for up to 2 days or freeze individual slices for up to 3 months.
