  • 1 cup shredded cheese Cheddar is classic; experiment with mozzarella or pepper jack.
  • 1 bag frozen tater tots (32 oz) The star of the show!
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Fresh minced garlic works wonders too!
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder Adds depth; omit if keeping it simple.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well-blended.
  • Spread the mixture evenly in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Arrange the tater tots on top of the chicken mixture in a creative way.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the tater tots.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the tater tots are golden brown.
  • Let cool for a few minutes, then scoop onto plates and enjoy.

Notes

Consider adding veggies for extra nutrients, or incorporating spicy elements for a kick. This dish can be made ahead and is great for potlucks and gatherings.
