Ingredients
  

Dumpling Wrappers

Filling

Preparation

  • In a large bowl, mix the flour, salt, and water until a dough forms. Knead for 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Filling

  • In a separate bowl, combine your chopped cabbage and any other filling ingredients like onion and spices, if desired. Sauté them in a pan for about 5-10 minutes, just until they soften slightly.

Rolling and Cutting

  • Divide the dough into small portions (about the size of a golf ball). Roll each piece out into thin circles, about 4 inches in diameter.

Filling the Dumplings

  • Place a spoonful of the cabbage mixture in the center of each dough circle. Fold over and seal the edges carefully, pinching to make sure they are secure.

Cooking

  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a gentle simmer. Cook the dumplings in batches, about 5-6 at a time, for 3-5 minutes until they float to the top.

Serving

  • Serve piping hot, drizzled with melted butter or a sprinkle of fresh herbs for an extra touch.

Notes

Leftover dumplings can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days. To freeze, place them on a baking sheet and freeze until solid before transferring to a freezer-safe bag. They can be reheated directly from frozen by boiling for a few extra minutes.
