Preparation

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the unsalted butter.
  • Add the flour to the melted butter, whisking continuously for about 3-4 minutes until the mixture turns a light golden brown.
  • Gradually pour in the beef broth, continuing to whisk until the gravy starts to thicken.
  • Once the gravy reaches your desired consistency (about 5-10 minutes of cooking), stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Pour the beef gravy over your favorite dish and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

Store leftover gravy in an airtight container. Refrigerate for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat on medium-low heat, adding a splash of water or broth if needed.
