  • 12 slices bacon (regular or turkey bacon) Each slice cut in half.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil Prevents sticking and helps seasonings bloom.
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika Adds warm, subtle smokiness.
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder For cozy, savory depth.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper To taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt To taste.
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup Optional glaze for a sweet-salty finish.

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and place a wire rack on top.
  • In a bowl, toss chicken cubes with olive oil, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Take one half-slice of bacon and wrap it around a chicken cube, securing with a toothpick.
  • Lay each bite on the wire rack, seam-side down.

Baking

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, turning once at the halfway mark if desired.
  • Let the bites rest for 3–5 minutes before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider brushing on a mixture of maple syrup and Dijon mustard during the last 5 minutes of baking for a glossy finish. Use turkey bacon for a healthier option.
