Main Ingredients

  • 200 g Dark Chocolate Opt for high-quality chocolate around 70% cocoa for the best flavor.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream For a lighter version, substitute with coconut cream.
  • 3 large Egg Whites For a vegan option, use aquafaba instead.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Chop the dark chocolate into small pieces and place them in a heatproof bowl.
  • Melt the chocolate gently over a double boiler or in the microwave in 20-second intervals until smooth, being careful not to overheat.
  • In another bowl, pour in the heavy cream and whip it with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  • In a separate clean bowl, whisk the egg whites until they form stiff peaks.
  • Gently fold the melted chocolate into the whipped cream, then fold in the beaten egg whites carefully.

Chilling

  • Transfer the mousse into serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 1 hour until set.

Serving

  • Serve chilled, garnished with chocolate shavings or fresh berries.

Notes

For added flavor, you can mix in a pinch of sea salt or a splash of vanilla extract. Ensure proper chilling time to achieve the right texture.
